I wonder if S&P has commissioned or voluntary corporate governance ratings on some of the cited companies. I am told that planning for succession is a major part of good corporate governance. Needless to say, Infosys is an outstanding example of that. Instead of 'fear being the motivator', it would be good if company boards do it of their own volition and not to avoid the rule book being thrown at them.
